Acuity Applied Limited is committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by April 2034 in alignment with the UK government's sustainability goals and the requirements set out in Procurement Policy Note (PPN) 06/21.

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and are used as a reference point against which future emissions reductions can be measured. Our baseline emissions year is 2022, which reflects the first year we captured and reported our GHG emissions data.

To achieve Net Zero by April 2034, we have set the following interim carbon reduction targets based on the baseline year 2022 emissions:

• By April 2026: Reduce total Scope 3 emissions by 30% from the 2022 baseline (to approximately 1.53 tCO2e).
• By April 2029: Reduce total Scope 3 emissions by 60% from the 2022 baseline (to approximately 0.88 tCO2e).
• By April 2032: Reduce total Scope 3 emissions by 90% from the 2022 baseline (to approximately 0.22 tCO2e).
• By April 2034: Achieve Net Zero across all emissions scopes.

To meet these targets, Acuity Applied Limited is implementing the following measures:

1. Travel Emission Reductions:
   • Reduce Flight Emissions:
     • Prioritise virtual meetings to avoid unnecessary business travel.
     • Encourage the use of alternative transport modes (e.g., trains) for domestic travel where feasible.
     • Implement an internal travel policy that minimises air travel and favours sustainable alternatives.
   • Offset Unavoidable Flights:
     • Purchase verified carbon offsets for any remaining essential flights.
   • Promote Efficient Vehicle Use:
     • Encourage carpooling or public transportation for employees travelling to client sites.
     • Transition to electric vehicles for hire or rental cars when required.

1. Remote Work Optimisation:
   • Improve Home Worker Energy Efficiency:
     • Provide guidance and support for employees to use energy-efficient appliances and lighting.
     • Consider subsidising home office equipment upgrades to more energy-efficient models.
     • Implement an energy-saving awareness programme to educate employees on reducing their home office carbon footprint.

1. Supplier and Stakeholder Engagement:
   • Work with Suppliers:
     • Engage with suppliers to understand their carbon footprint and encourage the use of low-carbon products and services.
     • Prioritise partnerships with suppliers who have strong sustainability commitments.

1. Sustainability Policy and Reporting:
   • Monitor and Report Progress:
     • Implement a robust system for monitoring and reporting our emissions on an annual basis.
     • Regularly review and adjust our carbon reduction strategies to ensure they remain effective and aligned with the latest best practices.

1. Employee Awareness and Training:
   • Promote Sustainability Awareness:
     • Conduct training sessions to raise awareness among employees about sustainability and carbon reduction initiatives.
     • Encourage employee participation in sustainability programmes and initiatives.

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 06/21 and our commitment to achieve Net Zero by April 2034. It has been reviewed and signed off by our senior management team.
